"I will never pay for prescription glasses again"

Reading, screens and driving: one pair.
Turn the dial until it is sharp.

One pair of glasses, every distance

"When I turned 50, my eyes started to get worse and worse," says Arthur, 53. Reading glasses for the paper, another pair for driving, new prescriptions every year.

Then he found Smart Focus: adjustable glasses with dual sliding lenses. You turn a small dial until things look sharp, close up or far away.

They adjust from -6 to +3 diopters, so they work for near- and far-sighted people. The lenses are scratch-resistant polycarbonate. "I've even accidentally stepped on them. Nothing happened."

Arthur now keeps one pair by his workbench and one in the car.
